How it works
How it works:
- Select the piece you’d like to paint.
- Choose your colours and design.
- Paint your item.
- Leave it with us to glaze and fire.
- Come back in a few days and pick up your masterpiece.
What it costs:
Studio fee of £3.50 per painter. (This covers use of paints, glazing and firing of your pottery.)
Plus the cost of whatever you paint. (Prices range from £2.50 - £32).
Paints:
Underglaze.
Underglaze paints are non-toxic and food safe.
Move your mouse over the dish and pig, to see how the paint looks after and before glazing and firing.
Acrylic paints:
These paints are ideal for figurines and ornaments if you wish to paint and take home on the day.
Items decorated with acrylic paints are not water or food safe.
Help is at hand.
Our friendly staff are available to offer advice on how to get started, and will be on hand to give assistance should you require it. There are several painted items around the studio to inspire you, plus design books, sponges, stencils, and tools for making unlimited patterns. We have a printer and a computer to enable you to select any image, and print onto carbon paper and transfer your design onto your pottery, which you can then paint in your chosen colours.
